SodaStreams And Other Blasts From The 80’s

Looking around today do you ever feel some of the things from your 80’s childhood should still be around?. Happy memories of long forgotten toys and TV probably make you feel nostalgic. The chances are you’re quite happy to see the back of some of them right??

Technically the first soda stream was invented in 1903 but it wasn’t till the 1980’s that everyone wanted to make their own fizzy pop. A SodaStream was the handy little machine that allowed you to make your own fizzy drinks at home. The thought of going through so much effort for a fizzy drink probably seems silly now not to mention the mess you’d make and the costs of the syrup and gas cylinders.

A bunch of alien cat creatures living on Third Earth being attacked by an animated mummy. If you know this is the plot to Thundercats you are definitely a child of the eighties, or at least a sci-fi fanatic. Thundercats was one of the most iconic cartoons of the 1980’s to hit your televisions and featured a lion, tiger, cheater, panther and two small cat like creatures. Each week the audience would join these heroic cats as they tried to defend their Eye of Thundera from the advances of evil.

Today we have more TV channels than we can ever watch. Most these channels now play 24 hours a day and show everything from comedy to drama to factual to sports and the some. However this wasn’t always the case. Back in the days of just four channels most children would wake up to watch the little blond girl playing noughts and crosses with her stuffed clown. If you don’t remember this BBC test card you’re fortunate enough to only know what it’s like to have hundreds of channels. Back in the olden day’s television didn’t run 24 hours a day and many children would have spent many early mornings staring at this still waiting for their programmes to start.
